  1. Place browned beef and onion in a 9x13-inch baking dish.
  2. Spread mashed tomatoes over the meat, followed by the pinto beans with juice.
  3. Pour thin corn bread mixture over the beans.
  4. Bake at 375°F–400°F until the corn bread is browned and cooked through.
  5. Serve with a relish plate of pickles and onions.
