Scald the milk and remove from heat. Add shortening to melt.
Combine yeast and sugar, then mix with lukewarm milk. Add salt and eggs.
Stir in flour to form a dough. Let rise in a warm place until doubled (about 2–3 hours).
Divide dough into 3 sections and roll each into a 1/2-inch-thick circle.
Brush with melted butter, cut into 20 wedges, and roll each wedge from the wide end to the point. Place rolls on greased pans with the point underneath.
Let rise again until doubled in size.
Bake at 400°F for 15 minutes.
