CHOCOLATE CAKE WITH FILLING

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F. Grease and lightly flour a 10-inch tube or Bundt pan.
  2. Prepare filling by beating sugar, vanilla, cream cheese, and egg until smooth. Stir in coconut and chocolate chips; set aside.
  3. For the cake, combine sugar, oil, and eggs. Beat for 1 minute. Add remaining cake ingredients except for nuts, and beat for 3 minutes. Stir in nuts by hand.
  4. Pour half of the batter into the prepared pan, spoon the filling over it, and top with the remaining batter.
  5. Bake for 70–75 minutes. Cool in the pan for 15 minutes, then remove to cool completely.
  6. Mix glaze ingredients and drizzle over the cooled cake.
