  1. Preheat oven to 325°F. Cream shortening and sugar. Add eggs one at a time, then bananas.
  2. Mix dry ingredients and combine alternately with milk.
  3. Pour into a greased 9x13-inch pan and bake for 50 minutes.
  4. For frosting, cook egg, flour, sugar, and milk on the stove until custard forms. Cool completely.
  5. Beat custard with sweet butter, vanilla, and powdered sugar until creamy. Spread on the cooled cake.
