CHOCOLATE TEA BREAD

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F. Grease a loaf pan (8 1/2 x 4 1/2 x 2 1/2 inches).
  2. In a large bowl, cream the butter or margarine. Gradually add sugar, creaming well after each addition.
  3. Add the egg and beat well.
  4. In a separate bowl, mix and sift together flour, baking soda, salt, and cocoa.
  5. Add the dry mixture alternately with buttermilk to the creamed mixture, beating until blended after each addition.
  6. Stir in chopped walnuts.
  7. Pour batter into the prepared loaf pan. Bake for 1 hour or until done. Cool on a wire rack, wrap, and store in the refrigerator.
