CORN BREAD

  1. Preheat oven to 425°F.
  2. Sift together flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  3. Stir in cornmeal.
  4. Add eggs, milk, and oil; beat with a rotary or electric beater until just smooth (about 1 minute, do not overbeat).
  5. Pour into a greased 9-inch skillet.
  6. Bake for 20-25 minutes.
