Instructions:

  1. Mix flour and butter as for pie crust.
  2. Add salt, egg, and milk. Mix well and roll very thin.
  3. Cut into small squares. Bring broth to a boil and drop dumplings in one at a time. Boil for 5-10 minutes.
  4. Turn off heat, cover the pan, and allow dumplings to steam for an additional 10-15 minutes.
