SCOTCH SHORT BREAD

Ingredients:

Instructions:

  1. Mix the flour, butter, and sugar together until the mixture resembles cornmeal.
  2. Press the mixture firmly into an 8x8 inch pan.
  3. Bake at 350°F for 40 minutes.
  4. Cut into squares while hot.
  5. Orange Butter:
  6. 1/2 pound butter
  7. 7 tablespoons confectioners' sugar
  8. 1/4 cup undiluted frozen orange juice
  9. 1/2 teaspoon (or more) McCormick orange bits
  10. Instructions for Orange Butter:
  11. Soften the butter.
  12. With a mixer on low speed, add the sugar, juice, and orange bits.
  13. Oil 3 or 4 individual salad molds and press the butter into them.
  14. Freeze, then wrap in foil.
  15. To serve, allow butter to come to room temperature for best flavor.
