  1. Sauté the meat in butter in a skillet until browned, stirring frequently.
  2. Add the vegetables, salt, and pepper. Cook until tender.
  3. Meanwhile, cook the noodles until tender in boiling salted water. Drain and add to the vegetable mixture.
  4. Add crushed tomatoes and stir to combine.
  5. Pour into a 2-quart casserole, sprinkle with cheese, and bake at 275°F for 1 hour.
