CORNED BEEF DINNER

Instructions:

  1. Place corned beef in a Dutch oven or large pot and barely cover with hot water.
  2. Add onions, garlic, cloves, and bay leaves. Cover and simmer for 1 hour (15 minutes per pound) or until fork-tender.
  3. Remove meat and add potatoes and carrots to the pot. Boil for 10 minutes.
  4. Add cabbage wedges and cook for 20 minutes more.
  5. Carve corned beef into thin slices across the grain. Serve with vegetables.
