TERIYAKI CHUCK ROAST

Instructions:

  1. Trim fat from the meat and season with salt and pepper.
  2. In a large skillet or Dutch oven, heat the oil and brown the meat on all sides.
  3. Sauté the onions while browning the meat.
  4. Combine soy sauce, sherry, brown sugar, ginger, and brown gravy sauce. Pour this mixture over the meat.
  5. Cover with a tight lid and cook for 2 hours or until tender.
  6. During the last 45 minutes of cooking, add the carrots and water chestnuts.
