BAVARIAN PORK CHOP AND KRAUT BAKE

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F.
  2. In a large frying pan, brown the chops in shortening. Season with salt and pepper.
  3. In a 13 x 9 inch baking pan, combine the sauerkraut, apples, onion, and brown sugar.
  4. Place the browned chops on top of the sauerkraut mixture.
  5. Cover tightly with foil and bake for 45 minutes.
  6. Uncover and continue baking for 10 minutes more, until lightly browned and the chops are done.
  7. Makes 6-8 servings.
