APPLE BUTTER AND PEAR CAKE

  1. Heat oven to 350 degrees. Grease and flour a 13 x 9-inch pan.
  2. In a small saucepan, melt margarine; stir in brown sugar and heat until dissolved.
  3. Spread brown sugar mixture into the bottom of the prepared pan.
  4. Cut pear halves into 6 slices; arrange slices on top of the brown sugar mixture.
  5. In a large bowl, blend cake mix, cinnamon, water, apple butter, oil, and eggs until moistened.
  6. Beat for 2 minutes at the highest speed.
  7. Pour into the pan and bake at 350 degrees for 40–50 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
  8. Immediately invert the pan onto a serving plate. Serve warm or cool with a dollop of whipped cream.
