ANISE COOKIES

Ingredients:

Instructions:

  1. Beat egg whites until very stiff and dry.
  2. Gradually add 6 Tbsp. sugar, a spoonful at a time, until the mixture holds its shape when the beater is lifted.
  3. Beat in anise, then carefully fold in the remaining 2 Tbsp. sugar.
  4. Spoon into desired shapes on the cookie sheet and cover with waxed paper.
  5. Bake at 250 degrees in a very slow oven for 50 minutes.
  6. Remove from paper immediately and cool.
