CHEWY NOELS

Ingredients:

Instructions:

  1. Melt margarine in a 9 x 9-inch pan.
  2. Sift together flour, soda, and salt. Stir in brown sugar and nuts, followed by eggs and vanilla.
  3. Carefully pour batter over melted margarine in the pan; do not stir.
  4. Bake at 350 degrees for 20–25 minutes.
  5. Sprinkle with confectioners' sugar.
  6. Invert onto a wire rack to cool and sift with confectioners' sugar again.
  7. Cut into 24 bars and decorate with green icing, writing "Noel."
