Instructions:

  1. Bake apples with cores in and skins on. Cool and remove pulp.
  2. Beat egg whites until stiff; gradually add apple pulp, sugar, and vanilla.
  3. Serve with custard: Heat milk to boil, then add beaten yolks while stirring until thickened.
  4. Sweeten and flavor the custard to taste.
