CHERRY PIE

  1. Drain juice from cherries and add salt and sugar to the juice.
  2. Mix cornstarch with a little cherry juice to make a slurry; cook until thickened.
  3. Add cherries to the thickened mixture and pour into an unbaked pie shell.
  4. Dot with butter and sprinkle lemon juice over cherries.
  5. Top with crust and bake at 425 degrees for 10 minutes. Reduce heat to 350 degrees and bake for 35 minutes.
