  1. Preheat oven to 350°F and grease a loaf pan.
  2. Dissolve baking soda in sour cream and set aside.
  3. Cream butter and sugar, then add eggs one at a time and beat well.
  4. Add vanilla and dry ingredients alternately with sour cream.
  5. Pour batter into the greased pan.
  6. Mix together the brown sugar, cinnamon, nuts, and chocolate bits.
  7. Cut the mixture into the batter.
  8. Bake for 30 minutes or until golden brown.
