CHIP AND CHERRY CAKE

  1. Preheat oven to 325°F and grease and line a 9x5x3 inch loaf pan with wax paper.
  2. Beat together eggs and sugar.
  3. In a separate bowl, sift together flour, baking powder, and salt.
  4. Add chocolate, nuts, dates, and cherries to the flour mixture.
  5. Fold in the egg and sugar mixture.
  6. Pour batter into the prepared loaf pan.
  7. Bake for 1½ hours, then remove from the pan and cool on a rack.
