CHERRY TEA CAKE

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F. Grease a 13x9 inch pan.
  2. In a large bowl, blend oil and 1 ½ cups granulated sugar.
  3. Add vanilla and orange juice, then beat in eggs one at a time.
  4. Fold in flour and baking powder, then add almond flavoring to the pie filling.
  5. Spoon half of the batter into the greased pan. Spread the cherry pie filling on top, then cover with the remaining batter.
  6. Mix together the sugar and cinnamon for the topping, then sprinkle it on top of the batter.
  7. Bake at 350°F for 10 minutes, then reduce the temperature to 325°F and bake for another 35 minutes.
