Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F and grease a 13x9x2 inch pan.
  2. Beat the egg yolk mixture and pour into the greased pan.
  3. In a separate bowl, beat egg whites until foamy, then gradually add sugar and vanilla. Spread over the cake batter.
  4. Sprinkle with chopped nuts.
  5. Bake for 20 minutes. Cool before serving.
  6. For topping: Beat together 1 cup heavy cream and ½ cup sugar, then spread over the cake.
