MOLASSES GINGER SNAPS

Instructions:

  1. Heat molasses and shortening in a pan until melted. Let cool.
  2. In a bowl, beat sugar and egg. Add vinegar and baking soda, and beat again.
  3. Add spices and molasses mixture, then mix thoroughly.
  4. Gradually add flour and mix.
  5. Let the dough stand overnight in a cool place.
  6. Preheat oven to 375°F. Roll out dough on a floured board very thin and cut into shapes.
  7. Bake until brown. Makes about 6 dozen.
