PUMPKIN COOKIES

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F.
  2. Cream shortening and sugar. Add pumpkin and egg, mixing well.
  3. Sift dry ingredients together and add to the mixture.
  4. Stir in nuts and vanilla.
  5. Drop by teaspoons onto a greased cookie sheet. Bake for 10-12 minutes.
  6. For frosting, cook butter, milk, and brown sugar in a saucepan until smooth.
  7. Cool for 2 minutes, then stir in powdered sugar and vanilla until smooth. Spread over cookies.
