1 can mandarin oranges (or 2 cans), drained and halved
Maraschino cherries (optional, diced)
Sauce:
¾ cup sugar
2 tbsp. flour
2 eggs
½ tsp. salt
Juice from pineapple and oranges
Instructions:
Cook the macaroni, drain, and rinse well.
Make the sauce by combining sugar, flour, eggs, salt, and reserved fruit juices in a saucepan. Cook until thickened, then pour over the macaroni and let it sit overnight.
The next day, break up the macaroni with a fork, add the fruit and Cool Whip, and mix well. Chill before serving.
