GERMAN COFFEE CAKE

Instructions:

  1. Scald milk and cool to a warm temperature.
  2. Dissolve yeast in lukewarm water and mix with half of the flour. Allow to rise until it doubles in size.
  3. Beat well, then add sugar, butter, beaten eggs, and salt.
  4. Stir in raisins and the remaining flour.
  5. Beat thoroughly and let the dough rise again.
  6. Beat down the dough and pour into a greased pan.
  7. Bake slowly. When partially done, sprinkle with sugar and chopped nuts.
  8. Continue baking until done.
