  1. Preheat oven to a high temperature.
  2. Beat the egg slightly and combine with milk.
  3. Mix flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar in a separate bowl.
  4. Add wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and stir just enough to moisten.
  5. Knead the dough on a floured surface for 3-4 minutes.
  6. Roll out and cut with a biscuit cutter.
  7. Place on a baking sheet and bake for 15 minutes.
  8. Brush with butter immediately after baking.
