Ingredients:

Instructions:

  1. Heat the milk and 1 tablespoon sugar, then add the dissolved yeast.
  2. Mix in 3 cups of flour to create a sponge. Let it sit for about 1 hour.
  3. Add beaten eggs, sugar, shortening, and salt to the sponge.
  4. Add the remaining flour, but do not knead; stir with a spoon.
  5. Let the dough rise until light.
  6. Roll out on a floured board, cut with a biscuit cutter, and fold over one half.
  7. Place in baking tins and let rise until light.
  8. Bake in a preheated oven.
