Instructions:

  1. Mix the boiling water, milk, 1/2 cup sugar, salt, and butter together. Cool to lukewarm.
  2. Soften yeast in 1/4 cup lukewarm water. Add 1 teaspoon sugar and stir into the first mixture.
  3. Add well-beaten eggs and 4 cups of flour. Beat well.
  4. Add the remaining 4 cups of flour and beat again, but do not knead.
  5. Cover and place in the refrigerator until ready to use.
  6. Shape as desired and place in greased pans.
  7. Brush with milk and let stand for about three hours.
  8. Bake at 425°F (218°C) for 15 to 20 minutes.
