GRAHAM DATE BREAD

Instructions:

  1. Dissolve yeast in milk, water, shortening, salt, and molasses. Cool to lukewarm.
  2. Beat in graham and white flours until well combined. Cover and let rise until doubled.
  3. Stir in chopped dates and divide the dough into two well-greased pans.
  4. Cover and let rise for 1 hour.
  5. Bake at 350°F (175°C) for 1 hour and 15 minutes.
  6. Rub the tops of the loaves with the powdered sugar and milk mixture immediately after baking.
