  1. Preheat the oven to 325°F (163°C).
  2. Cream the butter and sugar together until light and fluffy.
  3. Add the beaten eggs to the creamed mixture and mix well.
  4. Dissolve the baking soda in the sour milk, then add to the mixture.
  5. Stir in the mashed bananas.
  6. Sift the flour with the baking powder and vanilla, then add to the mixture.
  7. Pour the batter into a greased baking pan.
  8. Bake for 35 to 40 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
