PEACH UPSIDE DOWN CAKE

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Melt 4 tablespoons butter in the baking pan and stir in 3/4 cup brown sugar.
  3. Arrange sliced peaches over the sugar mixture.
  4. Sift and measure the flour and baking powder.
  5. In a separate bowl, cream additional butter with white sugar, then mix in the beaten egg.
  6. Alternately add the dry ingredients and milk to the creamed mixture.
  7. Pour the batter over the fruit in the pan.
  8. Bake for 50 minutes. Serve with whipped cream.
