ONE EGG CHOCOLATE CAKE

Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a cake pan.
  2. Cream shortening, add sugar and beaten egg.
  3. Mix in melted chocolate.
  4. Dissolve soda in vinegar and mix into buttermilk.
  5. Alternately add flour and buttermilk mixture to the creamed mixture, starting and ending with flour.
  6. Stir in vanilla.
  7. Bake in the prepared pan until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  8. Ice with boiled fudge frosting once cooled.
