  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a cake pan.
  2. Cream the butter and gradually add the sugar, then beat in one egg at a time until well combined.
  3. Stir in the melted chocolate and vanilla.
  4. Sift together the flour, salt, and baking powder.
  5. Dissolve the baking soda in the lemon juice and quickly add to the cake mixture.
  6. Alternately add the dry ingredients and sour milk to the creamed mixture, mixing well after each addition.
  7. Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan.
  8. Bake until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
