CHOCOLATE CAKE

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a cake pan.
  2. Cream the butter and sugar together. Add the eggs and beat well.
  3. Dissolve the baking soda in a little water.
  4. Alternately add the water and sifted flour to the creamed mixture.
  5. Stir in the hot melted chocolate and a pinch of salt.
  6. Pour the batter into the prepared pan.
  7. Bake for about 30 to 35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
