DATE NUT COOKIES

Ingredients:

• 3/4 cup shortening (butter and lard mixed)
• 1 cup brown sugar
• 1/4 cup white sugar
• 2 eggs
• 3/4 cup sour cream
• 1 teaspoon soda
• 2 1/4 cups flour
• 1 teaspoon baking powder
• 8 tablespoons graham or white flour
• Dates and nuts to taste

Instructions:

1. Cream shortening and sugars.
2. Add eggs and sour cream.
3. Sift together flours, baking powder, and soda, then add to the mixture.
4. Mix in dates and nuts.
5. Bake until done.
