DATE ORANGE NUT ICE BOX COOKIES

Ingredients:

• 1 cup butter
• 1 1/4 cups granulated sugar
• 1 1/4 cups brown sugar
• 3 eggs
• 4 cups flour
• 2 1/4 teaspoons soda
• 1 cup dates, finely cut
• 1 cup nuts, chopped
• 1 1/4 teaspoons vanilla
• Grated rind of 1 orange

Instructions:

1. Combine all ingredients in the order given.
2. Chill in the refrigerator to firm slightly.
3. Form into two rolls and refrigerate overnight.
4. Slice and bake the next day.
