OATMEAL COOKIES

  1. Cream together shortening and sugars. Add eggs and vanilla; mix well.
  2. Sift together flour, soda, and salt; mix with oatmeal and nuts.
  3. Combine wet and dry ingredients. Form walnut-sized balls, flatten with a fork.
  4. Bake at 350°F for 10-12 minutes or until golden.
