ICE BOX COOKIES

Ingredients:

• 2 cups brown sugar
• 1 teaspoon cream of tartar
• 1 teaspoon soda
• 1/2 teaspoon salt
• 3 1/2 cups flour
• 1/2 lb butter
• 2 eggs
• 2 teaspoons vanilla
• Nuts (optional)

Instructions:

1. Mix dry ingredients with hands into a powder.
2. Add butter, eggs, vanilla, and nuts.
3. Shape into rolls and set in the icebox overnight.
4. Slice and bake in the morning.
