BOSTON ROCK CAKES

Ingredients:

• 1 cup sugar (half brown, half white)
• 1 cup butter or other shortening
• 1 cup chopped dates
• 3 eggs, beaten separately
• 1 cup nuts
• 1 teaspoon soda
• 1 cup sour cream
• 2 2/3 cups flour
• 1 teaspoon cinnamon

Instructions:

1. Cream butter, add sugar gradually.
2. Add egg yolks one at a time if using an electric beater; otherwise, beat egg yolks and add.
3. Mix in flour and milk alternately, fold in egg whites.
