BUTTERSCOTCH ICE BOX COOKIES

Ingredients:

• 2 1/2 cups pastry flour
• 2 teaspoons baking powder
• 1/2 cup shortening (half butter)
• 1 cup brown sugar
• 1/4 teaspoon salt
• 1/2 cup nut meats, chopped
• 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
• 4 egg yolks

Instructions:

1. Cream butter and sugar, add beaten egg yolks, and add vanilla.
2. Mix dry ingredients and add to the mixture.
3. Make into a roll and put in the icebox overnight. Slice and bake in a hot oven at 425°F for 10 minutes.
