  1. Cook macaroni in boiling salted water.
  2. Make a white sauce with butter, flour, and milk; cook until thickened.
  3. Layer boiled macaroni and white sauce in a baking dish, repeating until the dish is filled.
  4. Top with white sauce, grated cheese, and a dash of paprika.
  5. Bake until the crumbs are brown. Fry slices of bacon until crisp and place on top just before serving.
