CHOCOLATE SUNDAE PIE

Instructions:

  1. Heat the milk and ½ cup cold water in a double boiler with the nutmeg.
  2. Beat the egg yolks with the sugar and salt.
  3. Pour the hot milk over the egg mixture, return to the double boiler, and cook until thick.
  4. Remove from heat and add the gelatin soaked in 3 tablespoons cold water.
  5. Add vanilla and cool.
  6. Fold in the stiffly beaten egg whites.
  7. Pour into a baked pie shell or individual pie shells.
  8. Serve with whipped cream and sprinkle with grated chocolate.
