  1. Wash cucumbers and slice thinly without peeling. Slice onions.
  2. Combine cucumbers and onions in a large container, sprinkle with salt, and let stand for 2 hours.
  3. In a large pot, mix vinegar, water, sugar, celery seed, mustard seed, ginger, and turmeric. Bring to a boil.
  4. Add rinsed and drained cucumbers and onions to the boiling mixture. Simmer for about 10 minutes.
  5. Pack pickles into sterilized jars and seal.
