BAKED CUSTARD

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F.
  2. Scald milk over low heat. In a bowl, beat eggs until slightly frothy, add sugar, salt, and slowly stir in milk. Add vanilla.
  3. Pour into custard cups, sprinkle with nutmeg, and place cups in a pan of hot water.
  4. Bake for 30-40 minutes until a knife inserted in the center comes out clean.
